After some bizarre weather in recent weeks for us folk on the Central Coast (lightning and thunderstorms followed by extreme heat one day, cold winds the next), we are ready for the crisp, clear, cooler days of autumn. For those of you with school age children, this time of year also signifies the return to school and the art of balancing homework with extracurricular activities. As you help manage your children's lives, be sure to schedule some time for yourself. For many of you, that means time to pursue scrapbooking, creating cards, or starting some handcrafted gifts for the upcoming holiday season.
At Scrapbook Expressions, we are here to help you with those creative endeavors. As promised, our new fall product is starting to roll through the door. We have had deliveries from five vendors alone in the past week with much more on its way. We have reintroduced Scrapworks with their delightful Halloween line, some Christmas, and lots of fabulous embellishments, including shimmering chipboard letters. We also have Halloween and pirate theme from the ever-popular Rusty Pickle. From Quickutz we have lots of fall related die-cuts, including new dies just released for both the Squeeze and the Revolution. We have two new alphabets--the Magnolia cookie cutter alphabet for the Revolution, and the Biography for the Squeeze. We've added new albums, paper pads, stickers, and other embellishments from K & Co. To help with all of your fall projects, we've restocked our basics--pens,
distress inks, tools, trimmers, stickers, chipboard and adhesives.
Last week we had a very successful 2 day storewide summer clearance sale to help make room for all the new inventory, but we still need to clear more space. So, we are continuing to add product to our sale area daily, and have a huge selection of paper at 50% off, die-cuts, stickers, and other embellishments up to 70% off. In addition, starting next week and continuing through the fall season we will feature a "weekly special" that will be announced via email over the weekend. The special item will only be on sale Monday through Friday, and while supplies last. Be sure to check your email to see what each week's special discount is. To kick off this special fall savings, next week (Sept. 17th) we will have selected albums at 30% off. These albums will make great gifts for those of you who like to do your holiday shopping early. We want to remind everyone that Angie has designed a gorgeous 2 page fall lay-out using Daisy D's new fall line for our next class, which is this Tuesday, Sept. 18th, beginning at 6:00 p.m. This class features use of burlap, raffia, and the Revolution die-cut machine with the Spicy Chicken font. The fee is $20. and includes all materials. Just bring your own trimmer, distress ink, and adhesive (both tape & Zip-Dry recommended). Sign ups for this class must be made by Friday, Sept. 14th, due to the preparation involved. You may reserve by credit card over the phone.

Our beginning classes are from 10 a.m. to noon, and the fee is $10., which includes all the materials needed to complete a two page lay-out. All you need to bring are your photos. These classes are designed for first time scrapbookers and are very basic. If you have been overwhelmed by all the embellishments you see in a scrapbook store, this class is for you. We will show you simple and quick techniques to get your photos into albums.

Special Events
Croptoberfest -2 day scrapbooking event. Saturday, Oct. 6th, 5 p.m. to 10 p.m., and Sunday, Oct. 7th, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The $60. fee includes dinner on Saturday, breakfast and lunch on Sunday, make 'n takes, gifts and prizes. See website for complete description of event.
To guarantee your space for all of our classes and crops we encourage you to sign up as soon as possible as these events are becoming very popular and filling up quickly. Prepayment is required at the time of sign-up. Due to the product needed and preparation for the page lay-out classes, we do require registration no later than the Friday before the class. If you should have to cancel for any reason, you will still receive your class materials and instructions. All fees are nonrefundable, however, crop and beginning class fees are transferable to another event if 24 hour cancellation notice is given. Receive 10% off all store product, magazines excluded, during any store sponsored event. This discount may not be combined with any other discount.
