As February is well under way we hope the New Year is off to a great start for each of you. With all the rain we’ve been having here on the Central Coast, it has been the perfect weather for working on our scrapbooks, cards, and other craft projects. Debbie and I were able to attend our first scrapbook retreat together since taking over the store, and we had a wonderful weekend in Cambria at a retreat led by Tish Rogers and Shelley Paton. These ladies did an outstanding job hostessing the event and we hope they will do many more!
Now we are preparing for a trip to Anaheim to attend CHA, which is the largest craft and hobby show for retailers in the nation. We are looking forward to meeting with many of our current vendors and seeing their new product releases for spring as well as discovering new vendors we’d like to bring into our store. We will be eager to share our new findings with all of you when we return.
Our winter clearance sale was a huge success and we have been making room for all of the new product that will be arriving over the next few weeks. Next week we have new stickers coming from EK Success for all of you “sticker lovers,” and we are going to start carrying their Herma adhesive that some of you have requested. We also have the ancestry line coming from K & Co. with albums, paper, and embellishments specific to your heritage memories. If you are interested in genealogy, we know a couple of ladies who can help you with your family history. We have a sample album on display of the beautiful work they do, so be sure to take a look at it the next time you are in our store.
We still have lots of gorgeous “Valentine’s Day” paper & embellishments for you to choose from, along with several kits for card-making, gift & treat bags, gift boxes, tags, etc., for all of your “sweet” creations.
The results of our class surveys are in, and based on the responses we got, beginning in March we will offer technique classes each month that will help expand your use of chipboard, ribbon, ink, brads, eyelets, die-cuts, acrylic stamps, and a variety of tools. These techniques can be applied to your scrapbook pages, cards or other paper craft projects, whichever is your interest. Classes will be offered on two different mornings, Wednesdays and Saturdays, from 10 a.m. to noon. The fee will be $20.and include all materials needed to create your samples.
Crop Nights at Scrapbook Expressions have become increasingly popular! We are thrilled to see so many of you becoming “regulars” at our biweekly crops because that means you are working on your albums and preserving those precious family memories! In order to meet the growing needs of our croppers we will be investing in more tools, die cuts and alphabets for your use at our events. Also, beginning in March, we will be introducing a new rewards program for frequent Friday night croppers that will allow you to earn FREE crops. For every 6 crops you attend, you will earn a 7th crop for FREE! Also effective in March, the crop fee will be $15.00.
