With the busy holiday season behind us, many of us are looking forward in the New Year to making a fresh start in different aspects of our lives. It is a natural time to set goals, make resolutions, and tell ourselves that this is going to be the year that we finally lose that extra 10 pounds, quit smoking, stop gossiping, so on and so forth. But whatever we set out to accomplish in 2008, wouldn’t it be great if this was the year that we finally learned how to truly appreciate our family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, and yes, even ourselves a little more? When all is said and done at the end of our lives, how will others remember us? Did we ever learn to enjoy life or were we always focused on the hardships and what we
didn’t have? In today’s world where everything is at a faster pace than ever before, and time keeps passing more quickly, we really have to make a conscious effort to take the time to appreciate the moment at hand, wherever we are in our lives. The following says it all:
“First I was dying to finish high school and start college. And then I was dying to finish college and start working. And then I was dying to marry and have children. And then I was dying for my children to grow old enough so I could get back to my career. And then I was dying to retire. And now I am dying…and suddenly realize that I forgot to live.”--author unknown
And that is why we scrapbook! So the next time someone who doesn’t understand why you scrapbook says to you, “I don’t have time for that!” (implying, of course, that it is a self-indulgent hobby only for those who have nothing better to do), you reply, “I don’t have time not to!”
And we here at Scrapbook Expressions will continue to do our best to help you preserve your memories, create your cards and gifts, and enjoy each season as we pass through the year. That, of course, means more new inventory to keep those creative juices flowing. And it started arriving last week. We are carrying a variety of Valentine’s Day lines from several vendors, which can be used for other themes as well. We have new product that has just arrived from Bo Bunny, Making Memories, My Mind’s Eye, Daisy D’s, and Moxxie. We have one of our largest sticker orders ever on its way from EK Success, oh happy day, you Jolee’s lovers! And for those of you who have been waiting for new wedding product, we have albums, paper & embellishments coming as well.
If all that isn’t enough enticement to get you to come by the store, then how about a Winter Clearance sale? Starting Monday, January 14th we will have a storewide sale on selected product to make room for all of this new product and more to come. The sale will run through the week. We suggest you come early in the week to get the best selection as this stuff will go quickly at these prices! Everyone who attends will earn a raffle ticket and there will be ways you can earn bonus tickets, such as bringing a friend who is new to our store. We have a great prize to give away in our raffle drawing!
If you are looking for a great gift idea for your favorite Valentine, we have Bo Bunny’s “Love” word album kit using the Smitten product line. We also have “Love” albums sold separately for those of you who want to make your own designs. If you are interested in some card-making ideas and easy paper crafts, we also have a “Valentine” kit from Bo Bunny that includes 3 different styles of cards, 2 gift bags, 2 gift bag toppers, and 3 gift tags.
